OIL AND GAS RESERVE DETERMINATION – Energy companies, financial institutions, investors, royalty interest owners, taxing authorities, and estates and trusts have accepted the authority of FGA reserve studies because of the successful record of accomplishment and experience represented by the staff. The engineering methods applied to FGA studies are controlled by the maturity of the property and the data available. Analogy, reservoir volumetric analysis, numerical simulation results, material balance calculations, and decline curve analyses are applied as allowed by the data. Conventional (Arp’s) decline and modern rate-transient decline methods are routinely analyzed. A variety of numerical simulation models are available to predict reservoir production rates, injection rates, fluid saturation distributions, pressure distribution, and sweep efficiency of injected fluids. An extensive proprietary software library ensures complete processing of databases and reduces error and study costs.

ENHANCED RECOVERY - Enhanced oil recovery can include thermal processes, solvent flooding, polymer flooding, carbon dioxide, and miscible gas injection processes. FGA engineers can determine the proper process, time and procedure to apply to a reservoir. FGA can continue to support a project by monitoring and updating the analyses as required.

FAIR MARKET VALUE ANALYSES OF PROPERTIES AND COMPANIES - Preparation of evaluation and fair market value reports require accurate forecasts of time-rated production, product prices, capital investments, and operating costs associated with a project. Fair market value must also be determined considering the "yardsticks" of value accepted by the energy and capital markets at the time of the study. Software developed by our staff enhances our ability to generate responsible opinions reflecting the technical and economic data for a property or company being evaluated.

GAS DELIVERABILITY PROJECTIONS – Conventional and non-conventional gas and gas-condensate reservoirs are studied to determine the future deliverability at well and field levels. Calculations are based on fluid and rock properties, reservoir pressure, production tests, and buildup and drawdown pressure transient analyses. The producing mechanism of the reservoir can be characterized using FGA software. The programs used in forecasting field deliverability are based on research completed for Mr. Garb's thesis for his Professional Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering.

ECONOMIC AND MARKET FORECASTS - Studies include projections of future gas market allocations, future energy demands by geographic area, alternate fuel opportunities, product price estimates, and future demands for oil field products and services.

FEASIBILITY STUDIES - The feasibility of various methods of extracting hydrocarbon and other fuels and the installation of plants, gathering systems, and facilities have been elements of past assignments.

DUE DILIGENCE REVIEWS – The experience of preparing engineering and geologic studies using fundamental data, provide FGA staff with the expertise to review the work prepared by client company staff or by other third-party consultants. Reviews include not only confirmation of time-rated reserves, but also of product prices, projected capital and operating costs, and all elements included in the forecast of net revenues for the appraised interests.

ELECTRIC & NUCLEAR LOG ANALYSES - Electric and nuclear log analyses can be efficiently performed for one well log or for hundreds. Whether the log data is made available in digital form on disk, on tape, or from FTP or email, or must be digitized by our technicians, petrophysical computer programming offers efficient and reliable foot by foot (or inch by inch) determinations when such are required for detailed reservoir interpretations.

ANALYSIS OF EXPLORATORY AND DEVELOPMENT DRILLING PROGRAMS - Subsurface control provided by existing wells, tied to geophysical exploration data, is incorporated in defining a geologic province proposed for exploration, step-out, or development drilling. The geologic interpretations are used to define drilling prospects, establish risk or uncertainty factors necessary for prioritizing and for estimating reserve potential. Development drilling programs are studied using both the geological and the engineering information to achieve results honoring all of the knowledge of the reservoir, deposit, or field.

PROSPECT EVALUATION - PROBABILITY ANALYSES - Regional geology, geophysical interpretations, and analogy to similar structures or traps are incorporated in the assessing of the risked potential of an exploration prospect. The inescapable costs for performing the program are compared to the risk adjusted return to filter or prioritize each prospect. Monte Carlo or other probability analyses techniques can be incorporated in our studies using the commercial or proprietary software.

REGIONAL BASIN STUDIES - The FGA geologists are very experienced in performing regional basin studies to extend the industry search for new oil and gas and minerals reserves. Basin studies performed by the staff have been used to establish exploration budgets, define prospects, plan geophysical exploration programs, and determine the potential future resource for pipeline and production design.

MINING EVALUATION AND MINERAL DEPOSIT STUDIES - The firm's geologists have experience in virtually all types of hard rock and stratiform geology and have performed reserves and appraisal studies for coal, copper, gold, phosphates, potash, silver, sulfur, and uranium deposits as well as various types of industrial minerals.

GEOTHERMAL STUDIES - Geothermal energy is a promising alternate source for the future and has already been realized in some areas. The FGA staff has evaluated producing areas and potential regions, and has assisted with acquisition of data, analysis of geothermal systems, recommendation of drillsites, and coordination of overall exploration efforts.

ARBITRATION AND THIRD PARTY OPINION - FGA personnel have served on unitization committees, arbitration panels, and as Special Masters in court proceedings. The firm and its staff own no oil or gas production, the opinions developed by the firm are independent and are not biased. The firm has no outside ownership, there are no outside policies or controls, nor is there any question about the confidentiality of the basic data provided to the company or the interpretive study results.

EXPERT WITNESS - FGA experts have presented testimony on behalf of clients at conservation commission hearings, local, state and federal courts, before international arbitration hearings, and for World Court proceedings.

MERGER, ACQUISITION AND DUE DILIGENCE SERVICE - Independent opinions of the value, and the potential value, of oil and gas interests have become a fundamental element for public investment in the oil and gas industry. FGA conducts investment analyses and due diligence studies for the financial community. These studies verify that published opinions supporting an offering are based on evaluation procedures acceptable to the petroleum industry.

FIELD OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT - Forrest A. Garb & Associates, Inc. offers oil and gas producing property management, operations consulting, and supervision. Field services include wellsite supervision of drilling, testing and evaluation of completions, and workover operations. Technical, supervisory, or managerial assistance is available for, but not limited to, the following operations:

EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT DRILLING - Contract specifications, bid solicitation, and contractor selection services are offered by skilled engineers having years of experience. Hole design and proper tubular selection considering depth, required sizes for the intended use, and proper materials for corrosion protection, are within the expertise of the operations staff. Drilling fluid program design or selection, along with drill bit recommendations; provide the client with optimum drilling programs. Authorization for expenditure (AFE) estimates and drilling prognoses are provided for client approval.

COMPLETION, WORKOVER AND REMEDIAL PROGRAMS - Wellbore programs, from simple completions to complex simulations, are within the capabilities of the operations staff. Recommended programs, along with AFE cost estimates, can be prepared in order to monitor bids submitted by service contractors. Wellsite supervision of service rigs and other specified services ensure that design specifications are followed and that there is reasonable compliance with cost estimates.

DRILLING PROSPECT ANALYSIS - Forrest A. Garb & Associates, Inc. has developed a calculation for analyzing the risked reward to the inescapable costs for exploration or development projects. This simple and inexpensive calculation enables a quick review of the potential of an investment. It is especially useful when prioritizing investment options, but also prepares a set of economic guidelines useful in determining if minimum company investment criteria are met by a project.
